Indoor Basic Dog Training Class: Beginning

Open to all puppies/young dogs over the age of four months and adult dogs with little or no prior training. We’ll cover loose-lead walking, heeling, sit, down, stay, come, off, leave-it, wait, hand signals, socialization. Please bring your 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes!), any collar (training collars will be demonstrated), treats your dog LOVES, treat pouch, toy.  Since your dog will come to EACH class, please contact instructor prior to start date if you have any concerns regarding fear/aggression.  Non-adult leash handlers must be a minimum of 13 years old with instructor approval. Please “potty” and clean up after your dog BEFORE entering the building.The first class, on January 11th, will meet inside the Historic Train Depot, near the Johnston House, the remaining classes will be at the Ted Adcock Community Center. Higher level obedience skills will be emphasized including hand signals, distance work, attention, heeling refinement, off-leash skills. Please bring a 6-foot leash, long line and/or retractable, flat collar/any training collar currently using (training collars will be demonstrated), treats your dog LOVES, treat pouch, toy. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) & CGC Advanced Dog Training Class

This intermediate level class will focus on the skills necessary to pass testing for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA). See www.akc.org/cgc for more information about this American Kennel Club program. This program emphasizes foundation obedience with good manners in a public setting, and is open to all people who would like their dog to be a better companion both at home and out in the real world, and who may also want to get involved in some form of therapy dog work (such as hospitals, assisted living, school programs, etc.). CGC/CGCA elements will be emphasized along with ALL intermediate skills including hand signals, distance work, attention, heeling refinement, recalls and stays. Please bring a 6-foot leash, long line and/or retractable, flat collar/any training collar currently using (training collars will be demonstrated), treats your dog LOVES, treat pouch, toy.  Since your dog will come to EACH class, please contact instructor prior to start date if you have any concerns regarding fear/aggression.  Non-adult leash handlers must be a minimum of 13 years old with instructor approval. Please “potty” and clean up after your dog BEFORE entering the building. All classes meet at the Ted Adcock Community Center. Optional CGC/CGCA test on the final day of class for an additional $10 materials fee for dogs to be tested. On-line Drivers Education Course (ages 15+)

Instructor: Economic Driving School - Online
Students  with busy schedules and extracurricular activities sometimes choose to  fulfill their state-required Driver Education requirement by taking the  course online.  The Online Drivers Education course is approved by the  California Department of Motor Vehicles. Reading, flash graphics,  videos, quizzes, and practice tests will prepare the participant to pass  the written DMV test.  The course is easy to use. You simply login to  the web site, enroll, and you can begin immediately!
