Main Street Bridge REHABILITATION Project

Project Description: This project includes a major retrofit and rehabilitation of the Main Street Bridge. This project will bring the bridge into conformance with current ADA and seismic requirements and extend the useful life while maintaining the historic aspects of the bridge.

Project Status: Design and environmental clearance Phase 

Funding Source(s): Highway Bridge Program Grant (Federal Funding) and City General Fund

Latest Update: 5/3/2021 – Preliminary Engineering (Design) and Environmental Clearance (NEPA and CEQA) is underway.  City is working with Caltrans’ environmental and historic architecture staff to maintain the historic aspects of the bridge for the design of various bridge components including the foundation, main deck, sidewalks/crossings and barriers/railings. The Main Street Bridge Advisory Committee meets to discuss and review/approve all design features.
