How to apply: 

Those interested in teaching a class or camp must submit an instructor course proposal form to the Recreation Department. Please try to have your proposal submitted at least three months before the listed start date. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee the approval of the course.

Required documents and application process:

Contract: After approval of the course proposal, a contract will be sent to the instructor

Insurance: A certificate of liability insurance listing “The City of Half Moon Bay” as additional insured is required for all classes. Insurance can be purchased through the Recreation Department. 

W-9: A W-9 will be sent with the contract for new instructors. 

Live Scan: The City requires a Live Scan background check every two years for all instructors.

TB Test: Any instructors who work with kids under 18 will need a TB test. We require a new TB test every two years for instructors.

Mandatory Reporting: Instructors will need to read and fill out the Mandatory Reporting Form sent with your contract.
