[ARCHIVED] Correas Street Utility Undergrounding Project

wires

The overhead utility lines in the vicinity of the new Library construction will be going underground, and that work begins on Monday, July 31. It will last for about four or five weeks, and includes some significant trenching in the street.

Temporary steel plates will be placed on the streets before final paving is completed. Watch for traffic control - for safety, a portion of Correas between Church  and Purissima will be temporarily closed to traffic and pedestrians.

The trenching will be taking place in front of these addresses on Purissima Street: 707, 640, 701, 711, 738, 740, and 705, as well as at 623 Church Street.

It is best to avoid this area if possible - but when in the area, motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to use extra caution. The City apologizes for any additional noise or disruption that this activity may cause - we're working to minimize the impact the construction may have to neighbors and the community, and appreciates everyone's patience!
