Two-Way Traffic Control in Place on EB State Route 92 at Upper SR-35 (Skyline Blvd.) to Pilarcitos Creek Road in Half Moon Bay
Crews continue to make progress on storm related damage

SAN MATEO COUNTY-  Caltrans, in coordination with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), has implemented a two-way traffic control on State Route 92 (SR-92) at Upper State Route (SR-35) (Skyline Blvd.) to Pilarcitos Creek Road in Half Moon Bay.

Crews have implemented a two-way control by creating a break in the median concrete barrier allowing the flow of traffic in both directions to use the eastbound lane with proper safety measures in place.

This temporary traffic lane shift on SR-92 will allow motorists to continue traveling in both the eastbound and westbound directions on SR-92 while reducing travel delays during one-way-traffic control.

Caltrans’ top priority is safety and will continue to work on stabilizing the westbound lanes.

Currently, Caltrans engineers, safety specialists, and other personnel are continuing to work on the westbound lane after a 15-foot-wide and 10-foot-deep sinkhole formed earlier this month.

Crews are also working at addressing erosion which was identified along the embankment placing a rock slope protection on the WB SR-92 shoulder.

Caltrans understands this repair work is impacting the daily commute for residents who live in Half Moon Bay and the other Coastside communities.

As work in the area continues, crews are continuing to monitor that area and adjust as needed to help alleviate the traffic congestion during the morning and evening commutes.
