Reminder of Beach Rules

Half Moon Bay Rules Graphic

In the summer of 2020, the City Council enacted new regulations for City Beaches. These regulations are posted at the entry to each of the beaches. Most notably, the City prohibited alcohol (consistent with State Beaches) on all City-owned beaches. In addition, the City maintained the prohibition of glass containers and expanded prohibitions to plastic bottles for single use of one liter (34-ounces) or less.

As a reminder:

  • Fires are prohibited on the beach or bluff;
  • Fireworks are prohibited throughout City limits;
  • Smoking and vaping is prohibited on beaches; and
  • Dogs are to remain on a maximum 6-foot length leash at all times.
